The steps to follow |
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
Add the sourdough discard to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie for spreading.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
