Doggie Treats

Doggie Treats

1 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup Foodie Tasting Room House Blend EVOO

1/4 cup natural peanut butter (make sure it does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs)

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with a non-stick baking mat.

In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and rolled oats.

Add the olive oil, peanut butter, applesauce, and egg. Mix until well combined.

Add the dried parsley and mix it in.

Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle a little more flour on the surface and rolling pin.

Use cookie cutters to cut the dough into desired shapes, or simply cut into squares or strips with a knife.

Place the cut-out treats onto the prepared baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the treats are golden brown and firm to the touch. Baking time may vary depending on the size of the treats, so keep an eye on them.

Allow the treats to cool completely on a wire rack.

Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, you can refrigerate them for up to a month or freeze them for up to three months.
